Summer Camp Positions - Lifeguard/Swim InstructorSummer 2026: June 29 - August 14Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Friends Academy Summer Program is seeking Lifeguard/Swim Instructors to join our vibrant camp community!

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Possess a current Nassau County Lifeguarding/First Aid & CPR/AED Certification (required) by May 1, 2026
  • Attend mandatory paid orientation sessions on June 20 and June 27
  • Commit to the full summer camp season (June 29 - August 14)
  • Be reliable, responsible, and punctual
  • Have a demonstrated interest in working with children

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during swim activities
  • Provide swim instruction tailored to various age groups and skill levels
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging environment
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must be able to move across the campus. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The ability to move around the campus.
