Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Participate in scheduled soft count and hard count operations under dual custody and surveillance- Accurately count currency, tickets, and other gaming media using approved equipment and procedures- Verify counts against machine readings, drop documentation, and count sheets- Complete required count room paperwork, logs, and reports with accuracy and timeliness- Identify, document, and immediately report discrepancies, variances, or irregularities- Maintain strict compliance with internal controls, gaming regulations, and count room procedures- Properly handle, transport, and secure gaming revenue within controlled areas- Operate currency counters, coin sorters, ticket counters, and related count room equipment- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the count room and workstations- Follow all security, access control, and confidentiality requirements- Assist supervisors and managers with additional count room or revenue-related tasks as assigned- Basic understanding of cash handling and counting procedures- Strong attention to detail and accuracy- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a controlled environment- Integrity, reliability, and commitment to confidentiality- Basic computer skills and ability to complete manual and electronic documentation- Ability to remain focused during repetitive tasks
Education and Experience- High school diploma or GED required- Cash handling, accounting, or casino experience preferred but not required- On-the-job training provided
The Casino Count Room Clerk is responsible for accurately counting, verifying, and documenting casino currency, tickets, and other gaming instruments in accordance with internal controls, gaming regulations, and surveillance requirements. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding casino assets and ensuring the integrity of gaming revenue in a highly secure and regulated environment.
