Role Purpose
The Hoist Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of construction hoists for our main contractor sites, ensuring the secure transportation of personnel and materials in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate passenger and goods hoists safely and efficiently
- Conduct daily pre-use checks and report defects immediately
- Ensure loads are within safe working limits
- Safely transport materials and personnel to designated floors
- Maintain clear communication with site management and operatives
- Keep hoist areas clean, tidy, and free from obstructions
- Follow all main contractor site rules and procedures.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, COSHH, and PPE requirements
- Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions are identified
- Assist with general site duties when hoist is not in operation (if required)
Skills
- Proven experience operating construction hoists
- Strong understanding of site safety and hoist operation procedures
- Good communication skills
- Ability to remain alert and focused throughout shifts
Qualifications & Certifications (Essential)
- Valid Hoist Operator Ticket (e.g. CPCS or NPORS)
- CSCS Card
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
