Description
Transpower builds, maintains and operates the national grid to deliver electricity to every home and business in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our Grid Development division works across the business to understand the future needs of grid users and the impact of new generation and demand growth.
About the team
The Asset Planning team develops Transpower’s 15-year replacement and refurbishment plans, helping ensure the national grid continues to perform safely and reliably. We focus on using smart prioritisation processes, frameworks, and tools to manage risk efficiently and support long-term investment decisions.
About the opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Asset Management Plan (AMP) team in Wellington. In this key role, you’ll help shape Transpower’s long-term Asset Management Plan, working closely with portfolio owners to develop, review, and approve maintenance and capital works programmes.
You’ll have visibility across the business, managing planning and reporting processes, analysing project and financial data, and facilitating meetings that support strong asset planning decisions. You’ll also maintain reporting through our data warehouse and PowerBI, support consistent governance and documentation practices, and manage the Asset Management Planning System (AMPS).
The team manages day-to-day planning while driving a range of upcoming improvement initiatives. This includes opportunities to enhance process efficiency, improve data quality, and advance planning maturity, some of which will feed into Transpower’s wider EBC transformation. The role offers genuine variety, grounding you in the fundamentals while giving you the opportunity to shape how asset planning is delivered across the business.
About you
You’re curious and detail-oriented, and ask questions when something doesn’t look quite right. You lead through influence rather than hierarchy and bring a growth mindset to your work. Positive and open to change, you’re comfortable operating in an evolving environment and enjoy building strong relationships while contributing to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
To be considered, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:
