R&d Laboratory Technician, Electric Testing

Description

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Laboratory test Technician for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team in Ludvika. In this role, you will testing products and materials in the Test center that englobes electrical, mechanical, magnetics and climate testing, the responsibilities is planning, execution, and analysis of testing processes. This position offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement in testing processes, contributing to Hitachi Energy’s vision of delivering smarter and more sustainable energy solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Test scope: Execution of high voltage electrical testing, mechanical, magnetic and climate testing
  • Test Campaigns:Prepare, execute, and document test activities, including data acquisition, analysis, and technical reporting
  • Lab Optimization & Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve lab processes and standardized tests.
  • Electrical Setup Development: Prepare and perform high voltage testing of dielectric materials and experiments

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with sensors, DAQ systems, and electrical instrumentation. improvement of lab processes through automation, scripting, or system optimization is a plus.
  • Analytical skills and ability to work with test data.
  • Knowledge of climate/environmental testing is a plus.
  • Understanding of testing protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ISO 9001, ISO 45001).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to evaluate test results and performance metrics.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough failure analyses and implement corrective actions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide training and guidance.

Skills in Health and safety and environment is a plus
