Core Responsibilities

The day-to-day duties vary by industry but generally include:

  • Operating Machinery: Running, monitoring, and sometimes setting up production equipment (e.g., conveyor belts, CNC machines, packaging lines, ovens).
  • Assembly: Putting together product components by hand or with tools, following precise instructions or blueprints.
  • Quality Control: Visually inspecting products for defects, measuring parts to ensure they meet specifications, and removing faulty items from the line.
  • Material Handling: Loading raw materials into machines, moving semi-finished products between stations, and packaging finished goods for shipment.
  • Following Procedures: Adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safety, quality, and consistency.
  • Maintaining a Clean Workspace: Performing basic cleaning of equipment and the work area (a practice often formalized as 5S) to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Recording Data: Logging production output, downtime, or quality check results on paper or digital systems.

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Physical Stamina & Dexterity: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, lift moderate weights, and handle small parts.
  • Attention to Detail: Crucial for spotting defects and ensuring consistent product quality.
  • Reliability & Punctuality: Production lines depend on all workers being present and ready.
  • Basic Technical & Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding how machines work to operate them effectively and spot minor issues.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Working cohesively with line colleagues, supervisors, and quality control staff.
  • Safety Consciousness: A non-negotiable attitude focused on following all safety protocols (e.g., wearing PPE, lockout/tagout procedures).
  • Ability to Follow Instructions: Precisely executing written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
