Our client is a US-based asset-based transportation company with a growing brokerage division. They operate their own fleet while also providing comprehensive freight brokerage services, offering customers flexible transportation solutions across North America.
Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively prospect and hunt for freight opportunities from shippers
- Build and maintain relationships with shippers and potential customers
- Secure loads and negotiate competitive freight rates
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base
- Present the company's transportation solutions to prospective clients
- Work closely with operations to ensure smooth execution of secured freight
- Meet or exceed freight procurement and revenue targets
- Track and manage customer relationships in CRM
- Stay informed about market trends, rates, and capacity
- 1-3 years of experience in freight sales, freight agent role, or freight brokerage
- Proven track record of hunting for new business and securing freight
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive, hunter mentality
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Knowledge of freight markets, lanes, and pricing
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with operations team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
