About the Role
As a Team Leader at Haines Hunter, you will be responsible for leading the production teams in their relevant areas, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency across operations. You will oversee the daily activities of the team, ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining quality and driving continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and motivate the production team to achieve performance and quality targets.
- Oversee and manage the production process to meet the company’s high-quality standards.
- Plan and coordinate workflows to maximise efficiency and minimise delays.
- Conduct regular safety and quality audits, promoting a zero-harm approach and ensuring full compliance with safety regulations.
- Have exceptional comminication
- Collaborate with R&D, Procurement, and Quality Control teams to ensure smooth production operations.
- Provide on-the-job training and encourage cross-skilling to enhance team productivity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes and reduce defects.
About You
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Proven experience in 3 years team leadership within a manufacturing environment and preferably in the boating or fibreglass industries.
- Hands on experience
- Work alongside the team
- Trade qualifications or extensive experience in boat building or related industries are highly regarded but not essential
Expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:
Assembling:
Fibre glassing:
Gel Coating:
Spray Painting:
Panel Beating:
Strong leadership skills with a focus on team performance and meeting production goals.
- A solid understanding of quality control processes and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
