NexVentur is seeking to hire a Site Agent to join our clients' team in Wicklow, on upcoming Civil Engineering & Infrastructure works.

The hiring company is a well established tier 1 contractor, with a reputation for delivering projects to the highest standard, on time, and within budget, in Civil / Water / Infrastructure sectors.

The role involves leading a diverse site team - including Construction Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and sub-contractors - to ensure projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget.

The Site Agent acts as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring all works meet quality standards and regulatory requirements while upholding the company’s core values and strategic vision.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee all construction operations to ensure project deadlines and milestones are achieved.
  • Determine and manage required resources, including manpower, plant, equipment, and materials, from commencement to completion.
  • Manage, monitor, and interpret contract documents, work scopes, and technical drawings.
  • Coordinate temporary and permanent works designs, ensuring all necessary certifications are obtained.
  • Secure required permits and licenses from relevant authorities and ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Take full responsibility for project budgets, including developing forecasts, managing resource costs, and evaluating site progress.
  • Liaise with the purchasing department to define requirements and negotiate deals with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Collaborate with Project Quantity Surveyors to measure and value completed works.
  • Document all changes to specifications and ensure contractual obligations regarding notifications are strictly followed.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to staff, operatives, and sub-contractors.
  • Direct, educate, and mentor junior technical site staff to support professional development.
  • Liaise and correspond with clients, architects, engineers, and surveyors, attending regular meetings to provide progress updates.
  • Report regularly to the Regional Director on project particulars, including finance, HSQE, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure the implementation of, and adherence to, HSQE Management Systems.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and adhere to all company safety standards.
  • Co-ordinate required staff training with the HSQE department.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a Site Agent role, with essential experience in concrete structures.
  • Track record in running multiple projects simultaneously and managing multi-disciplinary site teams.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills for interacting with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in budget development, financial reporting, and contract management.
