Interior Designer

Abidi design-Muscat, Oman

at Abidi Design we need an Interior Designer to develop creative design concepts and support project delivery from concept through to completion. This role involves space planning, material selection, preparation of design documentation, and coordination with project teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout implementation. The position reports to the Senior Designer or Design Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop interior design concepts, mood boards, and space layouts based on client requirements and project briefs
  • Prepare detailed drawings, elevations, and 3D visualizations using design software
  • Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures that align with design concepts and budget parameters
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design consistency during execution
  • Revise and update design drawings based on client feedback and project modifications
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation for each stage of design development
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure implementation matches design specifications
  • Research current design trends, materials, and products to maintain fresh and relevant design approaches
  • Present design proposals to clients and incorporate feedback as directed
  • Support project timelines and coordinate with team members to meet deliverable deadlines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in interior design, preferably in residential or commercial projects
  • Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and furniture specifications
  • Understanding of space planning and design principles
  • Strong attention to detail and visual awareness
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a design team
  • Portfolio demonstrating design skills and project experience is required
