Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting records related to energy operations, including production costs, utilities, and infrastructure expenses
- Prepare accurate financial statements and reports aligned with energy sector requirements
- Monitor and analyze operational costs, identifying trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements
- Support budgeting and forecasting for energy-related projects and operational activities
- Track capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operational expenditures (OPEX) within energy operations
- Reconcile accounts related to energy assets, fuel usage, and operational outputs
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable regulatory standards
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to align financial data with production activities
- Support audits by providing accurate financial documentation and reports
- Assist in financial modeling and analysis for energy projects and investments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably within energy, utilities, oil & gas, or industrial sectors
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting, and asset management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure-related finance roles
- Familiarity with project accounting and capital asset management
- Knowledge of financial modeling and performance analysis
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are an advantage
