Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and monitor public sector budgets and financial plans
- Track government or public program expenditures against approved budgets
- Conduct variance analysis and provide clear explanations for budget deviations
- Support forecasting and long-term financial planning for public initiatives
- Assist in preparing financial reports for management and regulatory bodies
- Evaluate cost efficiency and recommend budget optimization strategies
- Collaborate with departments to gather financial data and ensure accuracy
- Ensure compliance with public financial regulations and internal policies
- Develop dashboards and reports to support budget transparency and decision-making
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, or related field
- Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or public sector finance
- Strong understanding of government budgeting processes and financial controls
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and report-writing skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in government, semi-government, or public sector organizations
- Familiarity with public financial management systems and compliance frameworks
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment
