Manager / Deputy Care Manager (Level 5)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Care Manager or Level 5 Deputy Care Manager to assist in the development and launch of a 2 bed new elderly residential care home in Leicester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the setup and operational development of a new elderly residential care home
  • Lead or assist with the CQC registration process
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures in line with CQC regulations and best practice
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, medication management, infection control, health and safety, and governance standards
  • Prepare the service for inspections and ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Assist with recruitment, induction, training, and supervision of care staff
  • Promote high-quality, person-centred care for elderly residents
  • Establish effective care planning and risk assessment systems
  • Maintain accurate documentation and operational records
  • Support the development of a positive care culture and professional working environment
  • Liaise with external professionals, local authorities, families, and healthcare providers

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working within elderly residential care
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, standards, and compliance requirements
  • Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Experience in staff management and leadership
  • Good understanding of safeguarding, medication management, MCA/DoLS, and care governance
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and support the setup of a service from inception

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous Registered Manager experience
  • Experience opening or setting up a new care home or care service
  • Experience preparing for CQC inspections
  • Dementia care experience
  • Full UK driving licence
