An AC Technician in a hotel and resort ensures optimal climate control and guest comfort by installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. They troubleshoot mechanical faults, respond to guest repair requests, and conduct preventive maintenance to minimize operational downtime across guest rooms, dining areas, and central facilities. - Routine Checks: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), and split/package ACs. [1, 2]
- System Repairs: Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant issues (e.g., swapping printed circuit boards, fixing compressors, clearing drains, and detecting leaks). [1, 2]
- Refrigerant Management: Handle, recover, and recharge refrigerants safely while adhering to strict environmental and manufacturer guidelines. [1]
2. Guest Service and Response
- Prompt Troubleshooting: Quickly respond to maintenance calls from hotel guests and staff to resolve room temperature or ventilation issues without disrupting the guest experience. [1, 2]
- Communication: Maintain high standards of professional communication, ensuring all guest interactions are handled politely and discreetly. [1, 2, 3]
3. Equipment and System Operations
- Building Automation: Monitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS) to control energy consumption and adjust temperatures remotely. [1, 2]
- Inventory Control: Track and manage maintenance parts (filters, capacitors, fan motors, etc.), requisitioning replacements through the hotel’s procurement system as needed. [1, 2]
4. Safety and Compliance
- Health & Safety: Follow workplace safety guidelines, including using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and utilizing Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures. [1]
