We are unique in being a Manufacturer and Retailer of Indian/South east Asian garments for people of all ages.
We are looking for experienced Tailors to help us in sewing, alterations and mending of garments. There is a wide variety of jobs and garments with no day the same.
Tasks & responsibilities
To be able to sew from scratch, alter and mend a wide variety of garments and uniforms.
- Discussing with customers their clothing requirements, including fabric, style, and design preferences.
- Reading and understanding designs, sketches, and sample garments to prepare patterns.
- Creating and cutting patterns for garments.
- Measuring, marking, and cutting fabric according to patterns.
- Pinning and assembling garment pieces before sewing.
- Sewing garments using sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques where required.
- Fitting garments on customers and identifying any alterations needed for a proper fit.
- Making alterations and adjustments to garments as required.
- Sewing buttonholes and attaching buttons, hooks, zips, press studs, and other fasteners.
- Ironing, pressing, and finishing garments to a high standard before delivery to customers.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
- Perform routine maintenance of sewing and cutting equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Manage workloads effectively to meet production deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications & experience
- Previous experience of at least two years in stitching of Indian garments or a Graduation in Fashion Designing.
- Be a team player and communicate well.
- Be flexible to changing demands and quick turn-arounds.
- Able to pass drug and criminal check if required.
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
