Electrical Materials Buyer

Job Summary

Rayelec Technical Procurement is looking for a technical and highly organized Electrical Materials Buyer to manage the sourcing and procurement of electrical components, cables, switchgear, distribution boards, and related engineering supplies. In this role, you will ensure our projects are supplied with high-quality, certified materials on time and at competitive prices, while maintaining strong technical compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Sourcing & Purchasing: Execute the end-to-end procurement of electrical materials, engineering components, and specialized tools based on technical drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
• Supplier & Price Negotiation: Build and scale relationships with global and local electrical manufacturers and distributors. Negotiate unit pricing, volume discounts, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and payment terms.
• Technical Compliance Coordination: Partner closely with engineering and quality control teams to ensure all procured materials meet required industry safety standards, project blueprints, and regional electrical codes.
• Lead Time & Logistics Tracking: Issue purchase orders (POs) and actively coordinate with logistics partners and suppliers to ensure timely site deliveries, minimizing project downtime.
• Data & Inventory Management: Utilize ERP systems and Excel to monitor material price trends, track procurement spend, and maintain accurate records of technical datasheets and supplier compliance certificates.

Requirements:

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in technical procurement or purchasing, specifically handling electrical components, engineering supplies, or industrial hardware.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret bills of materials (BOM) or technical specifications. Familiarity with global electrical manufacturing brands and standards is highly preferred.
• Software Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and cost analysis, alongside hands-on experience using modern ERP or supply chain management software.
• Core Skills: Exceptional negotiation, contract assessment, and problem-solving abilities with high attention to technical detail.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills to confidently interface with technical stakeholders, engineers, and international suppliers.

Pay: BD717.850 per month
