You:
You will be managing a distributed team of about eight (8) Data Scientists who are part of our CS DS team. The team's mission is to take on complex fraud detection problems for our enterprise level clients using Feedzai's unique product and platform. In addition, the team is tasked with creatively developing and coding innovative data science solutions for our clients that can be generalized as product enhancements. Our customer success team works with clients all over Europe.

Your Day to Day:

  • Ensure successful delivery of Data Science artefacts on large scale clients, up to 8 projects
  • Effectively understand business objectives and communicating data science insights and progress to a non-technical audience
  • Support implementation of Feedzai's machine learning algorithm into our client's data feeds by unblocking issues, providing DS advice, and enforcing DS good practices
  • Contribute to the team knowledge by keeping up with the state-of-the-art in machine learning applied to our domains
  • Provide input to our Product and Research teams based on insights and models developed for individual clients
  • Mentor, manage and conduct performance evaluation for the team

You Have & You Know-how:

  • MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics or similar technical discipline
  • Hands-on experience with big data, machine learning algorithms, and statistical modelling techniques such as classification, decision trees, boosting, and clustering
  • Experience with R/Python and an object-oriented language (Java, C/C++)
  • Experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Hive, and Pig
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of data scientists
  • Comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to handle uncertain and complex situations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both client and data science teams
  • Ability to think pragmatically, listen, and provide team orientation
  • Ability to explore complex data patterns and convert it into insights and actionable plans
  • Experience with building models for fraudulent financial transactions is highly valued
