Role Overview
This role will support the growing delivery of IT development projects across the Planet business streams. The role will work within the software delivery team as part of a team of Quality Assurance professionals, performing both manual and automated testing on Planet I.T. systems. The strategic direction for testing it to drive test automation practises.

The strategic approach within QA is to drive automation practices, so automation experience and principles will be an important focus area for this role. You will work within an Agile SCRUM environment, working closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, whilst liaising closely with system developers and users.

What you will do:

• Design and execute manual and automated tests, regression tests, scalability & performance testing.
• Test all system components; UI, web services and functional backend logic/database.
• Technically minded with the ability to adapt to new technologies, including cloud services and knowledge using scripting languages (like JavaScript and PowerShell)
• Work with test automation tools (TOSCA, SQL server data, scaled testing tools and Azure)

Track testing progress and provide analysis and metrics on testing status.

What you will need to bring to Planet

Professional Experience

• 3rd level qualification in a computer related discipline or equivalent
• QA certification or equivalent accreditation (e.g. ISTQB)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an IT QA software tester role
• Preferred 1 year in automated principles and tooling experience
• Preferred real time transaction processing or similar is an advantage.

Tool Set

• Core:Jira, Automation testing principles (APIs) & tools, TestRail, SQL skills, Confluence
• Highly Desirable:TOSCA *, *Selenium, Postman, Test Complete, TestRail, Jenkins, JMeter
• Desirable:Azure services
