Be the Expert: Analyzing issuers via financial analysis, evaluation of industry positioning, assessment of management and strategy, among other factors. Identifying investment catalysts, business risks and form an opinion on the HY asset class. Building and maintaining financial models (historical and forecasts) and other investment-related infrastructure that supports our credit recommendations and investments across sectors (notably TMT and natural resources). Create detailed credit models, authoring crisp credit memos and presenting the primary/secondary deals to the investment committee. Have full-ownership of the deal and monitoring its constant performance against benchmark bonds.
Strenghten Relationships: Supporting the recommendations of investments across a range of portfolios and defending those recommendations in both oral and written communication with portfolio managers. Be able to work with people of diverse skills and personalities towards a common goal of effectively managing large portfolios.
Know the Business: Keep track of relevant news for the portfolio and analyse potential impact. Assessing the relative value of investment opportunities by interpreting risk-reward parameters, legal and capital structures, bond covenants, market drivers and the value of available alternatives.
Consistently Deliver: Work well under pressure - must be able to remain calm and focused while multi-tasking in a fast-paced, unstructured and dynamic work environment. Be a virtual front-end analyst, working in a quasi-captive environment, analysing full-investment cycle of HY bonds.
Enable and Guide:The lead analyst will be supported by a junior analyst and will be responsible for guiding/mentoring the analyst.

Qualifications:

  • MBA Finance from premier institute/CFA/CA or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in fixed income domain
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge on US high yield bond market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak with C-level executives of the underlying companies and presenting ideas to committees
  • Ability to work independently and at the same lead junior analysts/team to scale up in their positions
  • Expertise in US TMT or natural resources or healthcare sectors (Good-to-have)
