THE ROLE

As an Engineering Lead in the Global Platform Technology group, more specifically within Technology Research & Development, you will lead a team whose mission is to pave the way for Farfetch's next-generation ideas. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead a diverse agile team of research engineers, willing to bring the best ideas to the company and with different backgrounds;
  • Set goals and development targets for the Engineers within your team and support them with feedback and development plans as they progress;
  • Engage with the architects, engineering and product teams, to help drive the research into development;
  • Contribute to the hiring and development plan of your team;
  • Assure the collaboration of your team with different engineering teams/offices and their adherence to the defined global engineering best practices;
  • Create a work environment where the team members feel safe to fail and learn, being empowered to take action and most of all highly engaged with the team and their goals.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A professional with +5 years of experience as a software engineer;
  • Experienced in leading diverse engineering teams towards goal achievement;
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in Product/Software development, with an understanding of all different phases, from creation all the way through implementation and continuous improvement, using Agile methodologies;
  • Used to building trusting relationships with different people at different levels in the company;
  • Comfortable being a technical reference and promote the use of state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies;
    Experienced in working in large-scale organisations on a multinational level with a multicultural team;
  • Experience in C# or similar object-oriented programming language;
  • Knowledgeable about SOA and service communication using RESTful APIs;
    Proficient in written and spoken English.
