Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen.
- Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Supervise and coordinate all pastry preparation and presentation.
- Incharge of all activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
- Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget and dealing with Suppliers.
- Incharge of customers issues and follow problems through to resolution.
- Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
Requirements and skills:
- Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role.
- Organizing and leadership skills.
- Great attention to detail and creativity.
- Certificate in pastry-making, baking or relevant field.
- Positive attitude and Good communication skills.
- Posses professional disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
- High school diploma or related professional area or 2-year degree from an accredited, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the food and beverage,
- Minimum of 4 years experience in the pastry chef with high volume food production and Incharge.
