- The Global Trade Brazil (country) manager is part of our global trade management family and ensures the highest level of compliance with customs and trade regulations. He/She contributes to generating value for our group by boosting our businesses’ trade lanes performance and cash by means of a robust operating model and strong governance with other functions. He/she supports the deployment of our Global Trade strategy that allows for future-proof agility against external trade disruptions.

  • Deploy (globally

  • Supervise controls enforcement.

  • Set up performance review programs with service providers.
  • Prepare, defend, follow up and report on external audits/controls/investigations.
  • Design, deploy and maintain duty saving and trusted trader programs.
  • Track and report key global trade metrics within own perimeter.
  • Manage and coordinate with external and internal partners
  • Maintain regular contact with service providers (customs brokers, external consultants, freight forwarders) of own perimeter.
  • Prepare and coordinate contract activities with service providers of own perimeter.
  • Coordinate global trade activities with all internal stakeholders (tax, procurement, controlling, industrial management, legal, etc.) as per the internal governance model and Solvay One principles.
  • Manage own organization
  • Define, propose, implement and follow up on the entity’s budget, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Define team structure and resource needs.
  • Report to management results and developments realized in own perimeter.
  • Cascade down critical information in a timely and understandable way.
  • Define and manage succession plans.
  • Lead and develop people.
  • Define objectives for, lead, motivate, coach, develop and evaluate the members of the own team.
  • Ensure knowledge and expertise are maintained, developed, and shared within the team.
  • Participate in the selection, rotation, and promotion of team members.

You will bring
Education and experience

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in economics, law, international trade, supply chain, or similar.
  • Post-master in Customs Law or similar is a real asset.
  • +6 years experience in Global Trade and customs operations in Brazil.

Technical skills

  • Fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory.
  • Excellent communicator (written and orally).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Hands-on.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with cross-border teams in a high matrix organization.
  • Eagerness to embark on an ambitious global trade transformation journey.
