Senior School Counsellor

Qualifications and skills:

• A relevant Bachelor of Psychology degree or extensive counselling experience, Bachelor degree in Education / PGCE would be essential
• Must have counselling training as well as a minimum of 7 years experience at this level
• A valid and up to date Police Clearance
• Registration with the Health professions Council of SA (HPCSA) would be advantageous

Duties include:

• Provide learns and staff with counselling services and assistance
• Teach lessons as determined by the needs of the school - (Preferably Life Orientation)
• Complete administrative and clerical tasks related to the successful management of the Counselling Department
• To be fully involved in the function of the Learner Support centre and the facilitation of Peer Counselling and Tutoring
