Qualifications and skills:
- A relevant Bachelor of Psychology degree or extensive counselling experience, Bachelor degree in Education / PGCE would be essential
- Must have counselling training as well as a minimum of 7 years experience at this level
- A valid and up to date Police Clearance
- Registration with the Health professions Council of SA (HPCSA) would be advantageous
Duties include:
- Provide learns and staff with counselling services and assistance
- Teach lessons as determined by the needs of the school - (Preferably Life Orientation)
- Complete administrative and clerical tasks related to the successful management of the Counselling Department
- To be fully involved in the function of the Learner Support centre and the facilitation of Peer Counselling and Tutoring
