Role Overview

Solvay is seeking a Research Laboratory Technician with physical-chemistry skills in formulation of liquids and materials to integrate its physical-chemistry digital lab. By joining the LOF Research team, you will contribute to the development of innovative products aligned with Solvay G.R.O.W. strategy to meet customer expectations in terms of sustainability and Solvay One Planet ambitious goals.

Missions

  • Within a world-wide community of researchers, you will conduct laboratory experiments, learn and improve experimental methods. You will be trained to high throughput experimentation, using robots and other screening tools for fast innovation.
  • In close collaboration with the physical chemistry team, you will analyze data sets, perform results interpretation and present them and write reports. You participate in customer meetings.
  • You maintain high performing laboratory equipments and evaluate the quality of data generated.
  • You demonstrate a safety commitment and ensure a safe working environment by assessing experiments risks prior manipulation.

Qualification and skills

  • Bachelor of science degree in one of the following areas: Chemistry, Formulation, Physical-chemistry, Bio-chemistry
  • Good english level is a plus
  • Experience in different chemical or bio-chemical analytical tools, such as complex fluid rheology, surface energy measurements, HPLC, Raman, FTIR is a plus.
  • A taste for robots and automated setups is a nice to have.
