* What you’ll be doing...

The Security Engineer represents the entry point into the Security Operations Center. SOC Security Analysts will perform basic security monitoring; handling of common issue types; and basic incident response activities.

  • Performing 24x7 security monitoring and triage of incoming security events within SLO and/or SLA guidelines.
  • Incoming call handling.
  • Creating and following up on Security Event/ Incident tickets.
  • Providing statistical analysis/ reports.
  • Providing feedback of true/ false positives to Tier2/3 teams in order to perform use case tuning/ creation.
  • Following documented escalation procedures.
  • Identifying recurring incidents for problem management purposes.
  • Coordinating with Senior Analysts for high priority incidents.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
* What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of networking (e.g., routing, switching, wireless technologies).
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Cisco certification like CCNA, or CCNP (Routing/Switching, Wireless).
  • Security-related experience.
  • Security relevant certification like CCNA Security or CEH.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of threat landscape and indicators of compromise.
  • Proactive approach in engaging with customers, client executives and Verizon management teams.
