Corporate Relations (CR) function is to take action to ensure Diageo’s licence to operate, enhance our licence to grow and unlock our licence to celebrate. Function

Diageo’s Corporate Relations functions - the Global Spirit of Progress team exist to develop, progress, and embed the overall agenda across the company - representing all aspects of the Spirit of Progress Plan (covering the three Must Do’s to promote positive drinking, champion inclusion & diversity, and pioneer grain to glass sustainability, strategy development, stakeholder engagement, impact reporting and other efforts to build credibility and trust). We work as one integrated team - acting as business partners for Regional Presidents, Market GMs, CRDs, Strategy, Finance, Brands, Marketing, Supply & Procurement, and all other functions, providing advice, technical expertise, and tools to enable the business to fully integrate the Spirit of Progress plan and achieve our 25 ambitious goals through to 2030.

About the Role

The role will focus on the delivery of a comprehensive and impactful Spirit of Progress agenda, including our Society 2030: Spirit of Progress goals. Success will see Diageo is established as the most trusted and respected consumer goods company, developing partnerships that tackle challenges around climate change, the environment, and the harmful use of alcohol across a diverse set of markets.

Leadership Accountabilities & Capabilities

  • Act as a regional champion for Sprit of Progress, community and sustainability issues, internally and externally, by building and raising Diageo’s profile and leadership on key issues across multiple markets. This will require close work with APAC ICD team.
  • Partner with the ICD to engage with Markets, Regional Presidents to fully embed Society 2030: Spirit of Progress across the business - ensuring a clear set of roadmaps and priorities in the markets, aligned with our 25 global targets and priorities and strong storytelling to proactively build credibility and trust
  • Play a leading role in translating the Society 2030: Spirit of Progress Plan into a clear set of roadmaps across markets, articulating and providing clarity on targets against the 25 Spirit of Progress goals, supporting markets and regional executive teams in the creation of roadmaps for in year delivery supported by milestones and clear investment asks to deliver the step up in target delivery each year to 2030.
  • Leverage the Spirit of Progress quarterly scorecards and BPM process to ensure that markets and regional executive teams have a clear and up to date view of how they are delivering their Spirit of Progress targets in year, with a clear identification and prioritisation of risks to address and opportunities to amplify.
  • Play a leadership role in further integration between Society 2030 reporting and the BPM process, helping to create a joined-up approach to performance management for Spirit of Progress target delivery that is clearly understood across the markets
  • Partner with the market CR teams in the development of roadmaps to deliver the 8 CR owned targets as part of the Spirit of Progress Plan, ensuring that priorities are clear, specific targets are allocated and well understood at market level and that markets secure budget required to deliver against their targets, with ongoing performance tracking and swift course correction as required
