Crewing & HR Officer

Al Jazeera Shipping Co. W.L.L-Manama, Bahrain

Duties:

  • BASIC HR FUNCTIONS
  • Deployment, management, and logistic arrangements of seafarers and their data.
  • Assist and manage recruitment, maintain employee records, assist with payroll processing and provide administrative support to all employees.

- On-signers & Off-signers of Crew:

  • Assist in plan crew changes in advance
  • Maintains an up to date recruiting database and actively prequalifies crew members for future recruitment
  • Coordinates with manning agencies as per the set requirements and procedures

to secure crew, based on departmental needs.

  • Review and evaluate applicant qualifications and eligibility for specified licensing, according to established guidelines and designated licensing codes.
  • Manages smooth logístical arrangements for incoming and outgoing crew
  • Prepare LOG, Welcome Letter, Joining Letter, Offshore Pass letter and Signoff Letter.
  • Maintain crew records (soft & hard copy) including appointment contracts, hiring paperwork, and other personnel documents
  • Responsible for preparation of Flag Endorsement issuance and renewal.
  • Maintain the updates of Crew Endorsement Sheet
  • Maintain the updates of the Crew Medical Report
  • Follow COVID protocols On-signers & Off-signers of Crew members
  • Prepare Payroll Documentation
  • Ensure that personnel files and all crew certifications are kept up to date and are uploaded in the DMS
  • Maintains the Crew Change Sheet, sign on - sign off information, arrival, departure joining status.
  • Responsible for preparing and issuing crew Access Card
  • Ensure all Joining and Exit procedures are followed as per company’s procedures.
  • Inform crew expecting to sign off of reliever’s arrival to ensures proper handover
  • Maintain Updated Crew Master Sheet with ongoing and incoming crew.
  • Responsible for arranging of Offshore and gate pass when needed.
  • Analyze Crew employment-related data and prepare required reports

Salary: From BD1.000 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Manama: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Crewing: 2 years (required)
  • HR: 2 years (preferred)

Language:

  • English (required)
  • Arabic (preferred)
