Job purpose:
The HSSE Administrator is in charge of delivering all aspects of HSSE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for input in the development of internal HSSE Plans, processes, and procedures;
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with Client and REDBRICK HSSE Policies and procedures on Site;
- Responsible for review and approval of Contractor HSSE Files on site;
- Responsible for statistical reporting on HSSE compliance across all sites allocated to you;
- Work closely with project and construction managers to ensure implementation of HSSE Policies and Procedures, on site;
- Responsible for Monthly Site Audit Reports as required by the OSH Act;
- Responsible for Site Safety Compliance;
- Responsible for OSH Act compliance across multiple sites;
- Reporting to HSSE Lead;
- Able to investigate all and any workplace incidents in line with the law, client and RedBrick policies, and Department of Labour;
- Must be SACPCMP registered;
- You will be based in our JHB office, but travel throughout the region will be required
Experience :
- 3 - 5 years’ experience required in HSSE role
- Experience in the delivery of detailed design projects
- Engineering or Management background advantageous
- Strong construction and HSSE background
- Good understanding and ability to implement provisions of the OSH act, particular focus on the Construction Regulation.
Technical Skills :
- Strong technical writing skills
- Professional registration is desirable.
- Good IT skills (MS office, (in particular MS Excel) etc.)
- Driving license
- Good technical understanding of the objects that are to be built, the regulations and rules to be followed during design and construction in his/her specific country or area.
- Strong managing and communication skills as he/she is to lead the act of design and construction and make sure this is done in accordance with the strategy and rules of REDBRICK and its clients.

- Really taking the time to understand the strategy/objectives for the account. Engaging and inspiring others by showing how they contribute to the broader direction.
- Working closely with all parties (REDBRICK, Client, Contractors) to meet the objectives.
- Looking for future drivers as to how to motivate and recognize the REDBRICK staff and Contractors to deliver the Client strategy in new ways.
- Challenging "the way it has always been done" and taking well-reasoned stands on important issues.
- Demonstrating a strong ability to lead international multicultural teams on REDBRICK side and on Contractors side
- Showing facility to communicate using the new communication systems (videoconferences, conference calls,)
Education :
- Registered with SACPCMP an advantage
Language skills :
- Advanced English (business fluent)
- Zulu (preferred)
- Afrikaans (desirable)
