Role Overview

Cypure Account Manager Role

The job is not a traditional sales role requiring extensive business development and sales promotion efforts. The product is well known and entrenched globally. Solvay maintains 80-90% market share despite new competition from China. A significant part of this success model comes from our channel strategy. We leverage distributors (global and local specialty gas distributors) who bring value in several areas (local sales, inventory management, network access, end use expertise etc). The Solvay sales role is a full time role that is consumed mostly with meeting customers demands and delivering expectation satisfaction to both our distribution partners and key end use customers.This group is very demanding and has high expectations. Much of the role is adjusting to inevitable ever changing needs and challenges and working with internal functions and our partners/customers to develop quick and effective solutions. Attention to detail, problem solving, decision making, determination and customer obsession are key characteristics requirements. Drive, commitment and a take charge attitude are essential.

Key Commercial Responsibilities:

  • Support all customer related product requests (quality, technical, regulatory) to ensure in compliance with customer needs and expectations
  • Continuous gathering of market trends and intelligence especially with ongoing threat of Chinese source expansion and success
  • Drive continuous improvement in internal order fulfillment process to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Manage the entire sales/order process including management of refillable packaging
  • Support development and implementation account strategies to meet changing needs (market trends, competition etc)
  • Deliver monthly & quarterly sales objectives (rev, cm, forecast accuracy, cash targets etc).
  • Manage all contract related needs including pricing, supply commitments, new contracts and existing contract amendments
  • Work in close coordination with the channel partners and Solvay support services (SC, Quality, Operations, legal )
  • Manage partners/customers across all geographies/time zones including calls and in person visits as necessary in USA, EU, Asia (China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan)

Key Supply Chain Interactions:

  • Export permits - ensure these are always in place to ensure timely supply to customers around world
  • Sea and Land transportation (full and empty returns) - ensure bookings are in place in timely manner to ensure required supply
  • Cyl fleet management
  • ensure proper tracking, fleet maintenance, fleet sizing etc
  • Ensure all RMA’s are in place and timely return of cylinders to achieve quick investigation resolution as necessary
  • Key Manufacturing Interactions:

  • Manage all planned and unplanned supply interruptions with customers via clear communication and upfront planning

  • Manage all customer specific filing requirements are met as requested
  • Coordinate all customers inquiries related to plant processes

Key Quality Interactions:

  • Manage all customers complaints and ensure quick and thorough resolution (days vs months)
  • Manage all customer audits and site visits
  • Manage all quality process information communications with customers
  • Manage all product specification requirements with customers
  • Manage all customer required quality improvement needs

Key Skill Sets:

  • Drive and commitment to find solutions related to delivering business objectives and customer satisfaction
  • Communication across different levels both internal and external
  • Technical knowledge - chemistry, quality systems, production etc an asset
  • Experience in semiconductor not necessary but a plus
