Our specialist Risk Consulting team provide services to across our strategic markets:

  • Financial Services: Our team are one of the largest dedicated providers of Risk Assurance services to the financial sector, we work with many banks, insurance and asset management companies including FTSE, SEC, privately owned, as wellas over 60% of the Lloyd's market.
  • Industry & Services: Predominately private sector clients, ranging in size from large and listed multinational organisations, to small owner-managed businesses across multiple sectors throughout the UK and overseas.
  • Public Services: Our team provide distinctive audit and advisory services across six sectors - local government, central government, health and social care, housing and charities.

Job Purpose An area of growth in the market that we have identified is Change and Programme Assurance and we are looking to find an individual who has strong knowledge and experience of providing assurance services to projects and programmes. Experience of working inprofessional services is necessary including experience of business development, bids and pitching. Delivery experience of working on projects and programmes is desirable.

As a Manager/Associate Director in the Risk Consulting team, you will take a leading role in the development of Change and Programme assurance propositions and business develop activity. You will also be responsible for managing risk-based Change and Programmeassurance engagements and internal audit work to a range of clients, including financial services, industry & services and public services. You will work closely with clients and be committed to providing exceptional risk assurance services. An internal auditbackground would also be useful.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Leading on end-to-end business development from assessing RFI/RFP/ITT requirements, producing proposals and pitching.
  • Developing and supporting the Change and Programme assurance BD strategy including identifying opportunities and prospects for new work and relationship building.
  • Developing Change and Programme assurance propositions, internal/external marketing and awareness.
  • Developing Change and Programme assurance review delivery approaches including workpapers and reporting requirements.
  • Support the roll out and training on the review delivery approaches.
  • Manage or independently deliver Change and Programme assurance engagements across the whole project lifecycle, including assessing change/project delivery methodologies e.g. Agile and Waterfall.
  • Manage or independently deliver other special assignments (e.g. planning, testing reviews).
  • Engage with client stakeholders to agree review planning/scoping.
  • Review and/or preparation draft reports in line with agreed timescales including ensuring smooth agreement from draft to final.
  • Building strong working relationships with the client, delivering fieldwork in a timely manner and ensuring any problems or requests are dealt with promptly.
  • Actively manage and respond to the needs of the client and team members.
  • Considering the needs and skills of those under supervision, organising tasks and responsibilities.
  • Maintaining high quality delivery under constraints whilst delivering within deadlines. Ensure standards and procedures maintained by whole team.
  • Providing on-the-job supervision of junior team members.
  • Performance managing and reviewing junior team staff over Change and Programme assurance fieldwork. Line manage members of the team.
  • Assess and produce high quality work in line with the Firm's policy and processes, meeting relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Providing constructive feedback for the completion of team member performance appraisals.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of providing assurance services to projects and programmes.
  • Experience of working in professional services is necessary including experience of business development, bids and pitching.
  • Delivery experience of working on projects and programmes is desirable.
  • A project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2) is preferable.
  • Preferable to hold either ACA, CA, ACCA, IIA or CII (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Strong understanding of the end to end project management lifecycle including project delivery methodologies such as waterfall and agile.
  • Good understanding of the key risks and challenges faced by projects and programmes.
  • Good understanding of technical issues in the risk and change assurance sectors.
  • Experience of delivering internal audits preferable.
  • An FS or I&S internal audit background would be useful.
  • Good interpersonal and client handling skills.
  • Experience of managing, training and coaching staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Actively seeks to enhance expertise and knowledge.
  • Ability to develop new initiatives and methodologies.
  • Provide assistance, share experience, provide meaningful feedback and proactively support the development of others.
  • Take ownership of projects, effectively delegate to others within the team and take responsibility for quality control.
