About Lola Market:
Lola Market/Mercadão is a Glovo company specialized in on-demand delivery of big basket orders. With a presence in Portugal and Poland, we make sure our customers are able to choose from a wide range of retailers and have their orders delivered in less than 2 hours.
Our HQ is based in Porto, Portugal, and our development team is fully-remote with colleagues from Portugal, Spain, Poland & Ukraine (as of now!). We are looking for team-players that take responsibility, are self-sufficient, proactive, love technology and things well done. We don't mind if you don't have particular experience in some topic as long as you're willing to grow and learn alongside ourselves.
We are currently a team of 20 people with different skills and backgrounds. Your work will have a direct impact on thousands of daily customers!
About You:
We are looking for Backend Developers to help us develop world-class software. We are looking for people that bring suggestions to the table, take responsibility, take pride in their work and enjoy mentoring other developers.
Our Stack:
We are building event-driven architecture. Our stack (JS/TS) is mainly made of NestJS(NodeJS), NextJS (React), Kafka and AWS.
The Role:
- Delivers software at the expected pace.
- Owns the technical side of small features or parts of larger ones.
- Analyses situations or data, which requires review of a variety of factors, and resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
- Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic.
- Effectively communicates technical design in writing and orally.
- Uses data to validate changes and seeks ways to improve the overall metrics of systems and features.
- Good communication skills.
Our Requirements:
Must have:
- Proven work experience as a Backend developer.
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).
- Hands-on experience with languages, frameworks and tools like Javascript/Typescript (Node.js), Docker, MongoDB, SQL.
- Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.
- BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
- Good english communication skills.
- Experience with software development tools and processes (Git & branching models, Agile Methodologies - Kanban/Scrum, Code Reviews).
- Knowledge or desire of developing intricate algorithms for route optimization, scheduling deliveries and other logístical challenges.
Nice to have:
- Experience with AWS systems.
- Familiarity with Database Administration tools and processes.
- Experience with System Design (for the purpose of designing scalable and performant tools).
- Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript and CSS).
- Familiarity with security practices, standards and tools.
