At WM New Zealand, we’re looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Despatch & Weighbridge Coordinator to join our high-performing Christchurch team. This is a pivotal role - keeping our fleet moving, our customers supported, and ensuring the safe flow of hazardous and medical waste across the region.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Scheduling and allocating daily job requests—and keeping customers updated on service times
- Monitoring route progress and ensuring all jobs are completed efficiently
- Managing rescheduled or reallocated jobs when things shift (as they sometimes do!)
- Supporting drivers through incidents, delays, and absenteeism
- Coordinating the receipt and movement of vehicles and materials through the weighbridge
- Directing onsite traffic and ensuring all vehicle movements are safe and compliant
Qualifications What You’ll Bring**
- Experience in despatch, fleet coordination, transport operations, or similar logistics roles
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Outstanding organisation and the ability to prioritise on the fly
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where decisions count
- Proficiency with MS Office and scheduling/dispatch systems
- Knowledge of hazardous waste handling (a bonus, but not essential)
- A commitment to safety and doing things the right way
