Introduction:
Job description:
- Provide basic IT support for all on-site IT services timeously
- Provide basic desktop support to the site including, telephony, basic networking, basic site server environment, end-point hardware, printing, e-learning, Windows and Office suite etc.
- Provide level one digitalization support and manage calls logged (site specific)
- Install, repair and support fibre or any other underground communication systems [leaky feeder, fibre optics, wifi or conventional systems]
- Manage calls logged and resolve within agreed time-frames, escalate if unable to resolve
- Maintain and update asset registers
- Enforce IT policies and procedures within area of responsibility
- Proactive IT risk identification and mitigation within IT standards and procedures
- Adhere to M&RC's and the Clients’ policies, procedures, standards and safety protocols
- Prepare and submit progress reports monthly
- Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Relevant Information Technology National Diploma or Degree
- A and N Certification
- Proficient in Blick or similar Time & Attendance system
- Proficient in MS Office
- Valid Driver's license
- Planning and organising skills
- Problem rooting and solving skills
- Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
- At least 6 years of experience in an IT support role providing level one support
- Experience performing onsite hardware, software and peripheral updates and repairs, including LAN installations
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer systems
- Experience providing level one digitalization support
- Experience working with fibre optics or any other underground communication systems
