Financial Controller

JOB PURPOSE:
The financial controller is in charge of the full P&L of the business in the local market (two stores, with more openings to come). This involves producing, analyzing and monitoring the P&L of the local subsidiary, in collaboration with the rest of the Finance team, the other departments, in particular the retail team, and the third party accounting company. In addition, the financial controller oversees the budget process, and ensures that all costs are in line with the budget on a monthly, and yearly basis.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the monthly closing, calculating accruals, reviewing P&L and balance sheet, performing reconciliations, and analyzing variances
  • Manage the reporting to corporate (Latin America, Americas), inputting data into consolidation and reviewing the accuracy of the statements
  • Produce monthly management reports, compiling financial figures and presenting them in a concise manner
  • Control departments costs daily, proactively monitoring the targets of the teams and providing support and answers for financial matters
  • Approve invoices in multiple procurement tools, ensuring consistency with budgets and reviewing the approval matrices
  • Make ad hoc analyses and presentations for the management, helping in drawing conclusions and recommending actions
  • Take part in the forecasting process, exchanging information with the various departments and organizing it in a coherent manner
  • Any other tasks required to meet the financial objectives of the brand in the country.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in controlling
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • Solid command of Excel, ability to use various systems to extract financial data
  • Advance English level
