Requirements:
- An appropriate M+3 Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences or Humanities.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
Skills and competencies
- Proven record of student development.
- Ability to develop training materials and conduct facilitation.
- Exposure and experience in managing training sessions.
- Experience in events management and organising.
- Extensive knowledge of student administration and support.
- Experience in dealing with international students
- Ability guide and support student leadership.
- Sensitivity to students needs and ability to play advocacy role for students.
- Knowledge of relevant higher education legislative framework.
- Ability to implement policies and advance a vibrant campus life for students
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in teams.**
Duties
Duties include but not limited to the following: - TRAINING OFFICER:
- Guide and support the development of student structures as well as Student
Representative Council.
- Support strategic alignment in developing a second curriculum for competent student
leaders.
- Promote good governance by ensuring compliance with University policies, rules and
regulations.
- Manage resources allocated students in accordance with the approved policies.
- Initiate, implement and evaluate training and development programmes for student
leaders.
- Promote a vibrant campus life through campaigns that enhances the quality of student
life.
- Conduct regular awareness workshops to equip and educate student leaders structures
on existing and new approved university polices.
- Conduct voter educations workshops in collaboration with the Chapter 9 institutions to
improve participatory democracy on campus.
**_2. PROJECT OFFICER:
- Conduct student structures and student leadership induction programme on project
management.
- Ensures all student structures develop sound plans of action in relation to their events
- Assist the newly elected SRC to develop a Plan of Action.
- Develop a Student Governance and Development calendar of events.
- Promote and publicise student events and maximize the Keyaka Student Magazine
services.
- Coordinate a local organising committee for all major student’s events for a year.
- Facilitate and conduct planning for all student events on campus in particular Student
Representative Council events.
- Ensures compliance with the university rules, protocol and policies in relation events
management.
