The Workhouse is a trendy, independent coffee shop located at the heart of the Brixworth community. It is a place to meet for coffee, light bites & sweet treats throughout the day.
We are a dynamic team who thrive on great customer service, delivering high quality, fresh and locally sourced food that is well presented to our loyal customers.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a well-rounded kitchen assistant to join our team. We want someone who is passionate about food and is excited about the coffee shop scene. The role has room for creativity too as suggestions for improvements to our offerings are always encouraged.
We are open 7 days a week and bank holidays - no evening work AND we are closed over Christmas & New Years!
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Monitoring the quality of the food leaving the kitchen, making sure it is 'picture perfect' every time
- Assisting in preparing, making and assembling various menu items in a timely manner
- Excellent understanding of food hygiene and health and safety
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen, all kitchen prep and stock rotation
- Enjoyable to be around and comfortable working in a friendly kitchen team
- Experience in a busy kitchen or similar role
- A willingness to learn and sharpen your skills whilst also sharing your own
- Good organisation and time management skills
