The Mori Data Capability team supports the Te Ao Mori data capability of government and the data capacity and capability of iwi and Mori organisations.

M te tnga | The role

In this role you will focus on supporting the te ao Mori data capability of government and coordinatesho w the government data system responds to the data and data capability needs of iwi. You will do this by supporting the governance of relevant groups which include crossagency, and iwi and Mori organisations, taking learnings from our work with iwi, preparing guidance/training, delivering workshops, organising wnanga and engaging widely across government and with iwi and Mori organisations. You will also work with others across the organisation to broker Important Company to other skills and data that be required.

The Mori Data Capability team will coordinate the work programme closely with the Te Tohu Rautaki Angitu Mori Partnerships and Engagement team, which oversees our CrownMori relations. We will work in a way that honours our Te Tiriti commitments, doing what is needed to support the data capacity and capability of iwi.

You will be joining a new team in a new work programme and therefore your role will be varied, being adaptable is important.

Starting salary:
$ 89,177 $ 104,914 negotiable

Mu | About you

Knowledge and experience of working in or with Te Ao Mori is highly desirable but not essential. What is essential is your ngkau mhaki, ability to listen with true openness, learn, receive feedback, consider opposing views and to be comfortable and able to work in situations where the process isn't predefined or clear to begin with.

We're looking for someone who:
Wishes to support iwi aspirations, and values the benefits and opportunities that emerge from working together.
Has an open and fresh approach, inclusive and collaborative style with a strong focus on delivery and outcomes.
Can effectively manage a varied work programme involving multiple partners and stakeholders.
Is skilled in building and working on strong, enduring relationships.
Has experience of supporting and participating in governance groups, liaising with and coordinating multiagency action.
Has demonstrated experience in operational policy, i.e. writing guidance and support materials sho w to turn ideas into action. Experience in delivering workshops is desirable.
Has knowledge/familiarity or a demonstrable commitment to learning/understanding Te Ao Mori including mtauranga, tikanga and reo Mori, in order to understand and contribute meaningful work and outcomes for iwi and Mori communities, and deliver on our Tiriti partner responsibilities
