As the preferred logistics provider in Eastern and Southern Africa, we are looking for a dedicated Workshop Apprentice who will join our Durban Workshop team. With a good understanding of mechanics and the right can-do attitude, you will be working, observing, and learning a wide variety of mechanical skills and processes needed to make you even greater.
Responsibility
- Work closely and under the supervision of a qualified and experienced Mechanic
- Follow the conditions set out by the Workshop Lead and assigned Mechanic
- Conduct vehicle inspections to perform basic repairs.
- Learn and perform standard repair techniques under supervision
- Undertake work in a safe manner
- Demonstrate care of tools and equipment
- Carry out tasks with the aim of minimising errors, waste and time
Education/ Skills/ Experience - Matric - Grade 12
- 0 - 12 Months Mechanical experience
- Must be familiar with automotive transmissions types
- Posses a strong interest and understanding of mechanics
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Very analytical thus, detailed-oriented
- Be willing to learn and take in constructive criticism
Duties:
- Maintaining and caretaking of the workshop
- Manual handling and utilizing basic tools and equipment
- Report faults, malfunctions or defects to assigned mechanic or workshop lead
- Perform safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work and basic maintenance
- Service vehicles under given instructions
- Perform standard mechanical repairs and diagnostics
- Test vehicles before and after repairs
- Perform any ad hoc tasks set out by Workshop Lead and assigned Mechanic
Salary:
R 6,000.00 Gross
Working Hours:
7:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday and 7:00 am - 12:00 pm Alternate Saturdays
