About us:
In the words of Inc. Magazine, “Web Summit is the largest technology conference in the world”. Forbes says Web Summit is “the best tech conference on the planet”, Bloomberg calls it “Davos for geeks”, Politico “the Olympics of tech”, and the Guardian “Glastonbury for geeks”.

Whatever Web Summit is, it wouldn’t be possible without an incredible team of more than 240 employees, including world-class engineers, data scientists, designers, producers, marketers, salespeople and more.

We’ve disrupted an old industry by building incredible software and designing mind-blowing events. We’ve revolutionised how people come together in our world. We started with one event: Web Summit. But now we’re creating category-defining events all over the world, from Asia to North America.

We’re just getting started.

About the team:
The key events team looks after our VIP, invite-only gatherings within our conferences such as f.ounders, Venture and Corporate Innovation Summit. The team researches, recruits and curates the experience for each of these events, managing relationships from sales right through to the fulfilment and execution of their experience onsite.

We are looking for a key events associate to join our f.ounders team.

f.ounders brings 150 of the leading tech founders together to network and learn in a private off the record setting over the course of 2.5 days after Web Summit. Every founder from Netflix to Stripe to YouTube has attended over the past 10 years.

What you’ll achieve at Web Summit:

  • You’ll actively manage your own pipeline, convincing prospects to join our f.ounders events.
  • You will build strong relationships with some of the world’s greatest influencers and industry leaders, actively catering for their needs and requirements, playing a key role in their event experience.
  • You’ll act as a point-of-contact for our attendees and other teams, providing administrative support, collecting attendee information, producing event-specific documentation, curating content prior to the event, and ensuring appropriate arrangements - point of contact, accommodations, etc - are made.
  • You’ll liaise with our in-house event producers and designers, supporting event execution and activating stellar attendee experience.
  • You’ll produce weekly progress updates to plan and escalate any areas for improvement within your team.
  • You’ll promote knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration and you’ll support other event initiatives on an ad-hoc basis such as recruitment of mentors and judges.
  • You’ll work closely with the business intelligence team, monitoring, reviewing and updating the attendee database.

Who you are:

  • You’re a well organised team player that is excited at the possibility of working in a fast paced environment across multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • You are confident in your abilities to deal with founders and communications teams, over the phone and in person.
  • You deal with confidential matters in a professional manner, whilst respecting and upholding integrity at all times.
  • You are competitive and enjoy selling an idea to someone - ideally you have sales experience.
  • You’re incredibly detail-oriented, always making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • You’re a natural people person and a keen planner with exceptional attention to detail.
  • You’re self motivated, with a passion for making things happen.
  • You have developed an effective approach to solving problems and you can think on your feet.
  • You can keep your cool in any situation, whilst remaining confident, positive and professional.

  • Positive attitude, strong administrative skills and ability to meet moving deadlines.
  • Previous experience is preferable using Salesforce (or other CRM systems) and a keen interest in tools that help you plan, organise and execute.
