We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Manager to lead one or more of our cross-functional product development teams, looking to support and continuously improve our engineers and processes.

In this high-impact position, you will be combining your excellent people management skills and technical leadership qualities to take ownership of ensuring high productivity and satisfaction amongst the teams you will be leading.

You will be reporting to our Head of Engineering.

The Role

Our Engineering Managers work with a number of product development teams, supporting their developers and processes. As an Engineering Manager, you are responsible for managing developers across your teams, guiding and supporting their growth, while ensuring we have the right technical skills in the team to tackle the challenges we are solving.

  • Have proven experience setting and driving the agenda for improvement areas.

  • Sharing knowledge is something that you do and encourage.

What YOU will do:

  • Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to set goals and expectations and support the team in succeeding.
  • Design and monitor suitable processes for your team to support an efficient software development process.
  • Understand and influence the impact processes and technology have on your team's productivity and satisfaction.
  • Act as a conduit between engineering and other departments in the business, shielding and fielding questions where necessary.
  • Develop new coaches and mentors in your teams.
  • Guide developers across your teams, supporting and recognizing development of their technical and product skills. Help grow your reports, and highlight areas for progression.
  • Ensure the team has a good work-life balance, lead by example, and foster a culture of psychological safety allowing people to be vulnerable, adaptable, and challenged.
  • Ensure a culture of transparency and incentivize knowledge sharing.
  • Support recruiting of new employees and onboard new colleagues to the teams, ensuring your teams have the right expertise.
  • Work in close collaboration with HR, recruitment and other business stakeholders and speak on behalf of the team on general team well-being.
