Merri is looking for a Senior 3D Artist who is passionate about the future of the gaming industry. Your experience with environment art, architectural visualization, interior décor, terrain, and / or landscaping will help drive Merri's interactive event planning product to the next level.
We are looking for someone with experience at a gaming or architectural studio with a robust art pipeline and quality control standards. Your 3D modeling and texturing skills will shape the look, feel, and experience users will have on our platform. Your ability to convert reference images and architectural drawings/floor plans into a full-scale model of an interior or exterior space will be critical to the delivery of high-quality content.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
As an individual contributor, you will:
Recreate and design detailed, full-scale, 3D venue assets using reference materials
- Create optimized and high-fidelity textures and materials for each mesh
- Contribute towards the look and feel of the entire Merri platform by creating, updating, and enhancing interactive game assets
- Overdeliver on project timelines and deliverables with mínimal feedback
- Work towards creating a world-class art pipeline with improvements and suggestions
- Work with, and mentor, Junior Artists to improve their processes and techniques
- Collaborate with Project and Account Managers, and Engineers, to diagnose and resolve issues
- Bachelor’s degree in visual arts or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience as a 3D artist within the game or architectural design industry
- Experience working with mainstream 3D software packages and game engines such as Unity or Unreal
- Experience with PBR workflows, and texture map creation
- Proficient in both hard surface and organic modeling techniques
- Ability to work cross functionally in a fast-moving startup
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
Ability to estimate project timelines and meet deadlines
Would be a Plus:Experience working at a AA or AAA game studio
- Experience with Abode Creative Suite
- Experience developing assets for mobile platforms
- Experience developing custom tools or executables
- Experience working with and creating custom shaders
Scripting experience in Python, MaxScript, Perl, C#, etc.
