Job Purpose:
To provide legal advisory services, employment law services, litigation services, prosecution
services, legislative drafting services, legal compliance services and guide the municipality in
performing its constitutional and statutory duties.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Provide legal advisory services to all Municipal service units.
Provide Employment law support to Municipality.
Institute, defend and conduct litigation in the lower courts.
Institute, defend and conduct litigation in the labour and high courts of appeals and
constitutional courts.
Conduct prosecution service for council.
Provide legislative and administrative drafting services for the municipality.
Guide the municipality in performing its constitutional, statutory and common law duties.
Liaise with private/public bodies and individual on legal matters
functions.
Consider and recommend the granting or denial of indemnity to employees facing criminal
action.
Essential Requirements:
LLB or B Proc (NQF level 7 or 8), Admitted Attorney or Admitted Advocate to the General
Council Bar of South Africa.
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
3 years relevant experience
Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements:
Relevant post graduate qualification.
4 Years relevant experience.
