About the Role:
Our Central Operations team is responsible for all key operational activities in our markets including supply and demand, investments, safety, risk and new product launches operating across the SSA (Sub-Saharan Africa) business spanning across 7 countries.
The Senior Operations Manager - Safety is an individual contributor role, within the Central Operations team, that requires the balance of skills like business understanding, problem solving, data analytics and project and stakeholder management.
- Be responsible for rider and driver safety across SSA partnering with the respective EMEA and Global Safety teams to launch new safety products/features and solve for the region's needs
- Critical Thinking & Planning - thinking for both short & long-term
- Provide project and key partner alignment on initiatives to ensure they are connected to the larger business goals; ensuring projects are accurately defined, prioritised and have quantifiable goals and baseline data
- Supervise safety metrics, analyse the data and take on issues identified from the data analysis
- Collaborate closely with our EMEA and Global safety and security teams to ensure we use central solutions, import and export best-practices
- Build trust (and clear reporting) with external and internal partners
- Min 5 years of relevant experience in project management/program management within industries like Technology, Security, Management Consulting. Safety related experience in a plus
- A proven record of achievement in leading large and/or ambitious projects
- Solid partner management skills; able to quickly build relationships and gain respect in a cross-functional environment
- Strategic problem solver with excellent business judgment and decision-making skills
- Very strong verbal and written communication
- Deep working knowledge of project management methodologies with a head for problem-solving and critical-thinking
- Data analytics, SQL a plus
