Optometrist/Ophthalmic Assistant: Northcliff, Gauteng

A Surgery Centre based in Northcliff is seeking to employ an Ophthalmic Assistant who will join an Ophthalmology practice.

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive eye examinations / consultations, vision tests and analyse results
Diagnose refractive errors and sign problems
Prescribing glasses and contact lenses
Repairs and adjustments
Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases and conditions such as diabetes or hypertension
Diagnose sight problems
Prescribe spectacles, contact lenses, and other visual aids
Promote eye and general health counselling
Practice administration

Qualifications

Optometry Qualification
HPCSA Registration

Competencies:

Self-motivated and have great organizational skills
Strong command of the English language and a second language
Good interpersonal skills
Strong communicator
Ability to work under high pressure
Willing to work as part of a team
