The Role...

The Head of Sports Model Framework (“SMF”) will lead the team accountable for providing the engineering and architectural vision and direction for a globally shared framework providing capabilities for our various brand Trading Technology teams to consume as they are building new sports models and autotraders.

The SMF team will supply the required level of oversight, support and guidance to enable our brands to adopt and evolve this framework in the most effective manner. The team, through the brands, will track the evolution of the framework to ensure it can increase the pace of brand delivery of sports models and autotraders, enable richer customer experiences through a more open platform, and improve pricing accuracy through better data management.

For those brands that have adopted the Sports Model Framework the team will provide engineering, technical product and architectural alignment for their platform.

What you will be doing...

  • Set the engineering, product and architectural vision for the Sports Model Framework
  • Ensure the standards, processes and tools are defined, agreed and maintained for sharing codebases using inner-sourcing methodologies to support ongoing framework development from contributors across the group
  • Ensure the framework evolves with sound architectural guidance, and is in line with overall group strategic architecture constructs
  • Provides the right level of assistance for brands to ensure they have the right controls, APIs and resources in place to adopt the framework (or components of it)
  • Provide technical product management capability to shape the overall roadmap for the framework
  • Ensure that the principles of re-use are evangelised across our brand Trading Technology functions and effective re-use measures and transparency are operationalised
  • Support existing brands as they continue to develop the framework and avail of its capabilities within their own environments
  • Work with brands to understand their operational requirements and set the strategy for optimal operation of the framework
  • Participate as an active member of the Global Trading Tribe
  • Provide leadership for the Sports Model Framework team
