An industry leading market research consulting firm that provides professional services including Demographic Feasibility Studies, Site Evaluations, Gap Analysis, Customer Data Analysis, Shopping Centre Research etc is seeking to employ a technical orientated GIS Specialist to join their Randburg based team on a permanent basis. The company provide solutions, data and analytical services to sectors that include Retail, Property Management & Development, Healthcare, Education & various other commercial based businesses.
Responsibilities
The GIS Specialist will assist the product and solutions team of the business with all round GIS tasks which will include tasks ranging from data capture and manipulation, database design and setup, scripting of tools and products, AI and machine learning algorithm development, etc. These services will be provided to the inhouse business as well as to specific client accounts.
Qualifications
- Bsc Geomatics, Computer Science or Engineering Degree a minimum
- Honours of Msc Degree in Geomatics or Computer science will be beneficial
Experience & skills
- Knowledge and experience of the Esri ArcGIS enterprise solution.
- Strong Python/R and SQL skills.
- Web GIS experience, UX strong.
- Good understanding Spatial ETL and Data Marts.
- 1 to 5 Years’ experience will be desirable, but not essential if you can provide proof of your technical capabilities in geomatics data science, analytics, AI and or machine learning.
Salary - R25k to R35k, negotiable and dependent on experience.
