Imports and Stock Controller Duties
- The position entails but is not limited to the following requirements:
- A minimum of at least 5 years’ experience in all aspects below.
- Excellent skills required in monitoring and ensuring that imported products / stock quantity levels in the warehouse are maintained (“controlled”), so that there is a continuous uninterrupted and consistent supply of products to customers.
- Accurate planning and forecasting stock levels, balancing not being overstocked or under stocked at any time on each imported product, whilst working with lengthy delivery lead times from overseas manufacturers.
- Ensuring product manufacturing / quality control standards and correct product specs are maintained by the overseas factories.
- Liaise with factories with regards to minimum order quantities and lead times.
- Liaising and negotiating with overseas manufacturers regarding pricing / quotes.
- Working in conjunction with our shipping and clearing agents on calculating landed costing per product, based on factory costs, foreign exchange rates, volumetric space per product, shipping costs and import duties etc.
- Must be vastly experienced in import shipping procedures and terms, whilst working with our shipping and clearing agents, maintaining and monitoring the correct paperwork and procedures ensuring these are strictly adhered to and timeously submitted,
- Working with Bank’s Foreign exchange division, booking exchange rate cover
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office is essential.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: R20,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month
