- Server/Bartender

Reports to: Front-of-house supervisors.

Summary:
The server/bartender will be responsible for providing consistently high levels of customer service to all restaurant patrons by providing prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials. The Server shall perform these customer service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times and ensure that the patron has an enjoyable dining experience. Other responsibilities will include the proper setting of tables, removing used dishes and place settings, assisting with cleaning duties, and complying with all restaurant policies and procedures.

  Job Duties:

• Take orders from customers and ensure these are properly entered into POS System.

• Maintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items.
• Serve food and beverages in accordance with laid-down standards, but above all in a professional, courteous manner.
• Clean agreed designated areas, in accordance with laid-down procedures, morning/evening routines, and hygiene requirements.
• Clean and refill cruet and condiment sets.
• Set tables to laid-down standards, ensuring that all items used are cleaned, undamaged, and in a good state of repair.
• Ensure stations are adequately stocked with replacement cutlery, or other established needs, be they food or equipment.
• Ensure that customers are correctly charged, present the bill, and take payment from the customer, in accordance with the procedures of the establishment.
• Be aware of and practice good customer relations at all times, and attend to customer complaints satisfactorily.

• Attend meetings and training courses as required.
  Requirements:

• A SmartServe Certificate

• Restaurant service experience is an asset but not required
• Strong customer service
• Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to work well under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
