The Role in a nutshell...
The role of Receiving Officer cum Storekeeper is to accurately monitor all goods movements including food and beverage, stationery and other operating equipment in and out of the hotel and ensure that they are properly recorded.
Some of your ‘essential’ responsibilities...
- Ensure that any goods coming into the hotel have been properly ordered and met the specification (in quantity and quality).
- Ensure that all goods received in the hotel are accounted for and supported by valid hotel purchase orders
- Examine both quality and quantity of goods received in coordination with related Department Heads before accepting delivery.
- Ensure that goods are promptly moved to Stores or the concerned department once received.
- Ensure that outgoing goods are properly documented and accounted for.
- Closely monitor with the Procurement Officer all pending or partial deliveries.
- Be responsible for recording and distributing reports as required.
- Coordinate with the Procurement Officer in regards to delivery issues.
- Maintain a good relationship with suppliers and other departments.
- Adjust easily and do not hesitate to wear a variety of hats to support other departments as the situation demands.
- Seize any opportunity to go beyond the expectations of the position to assist with a guest’s needs, help a co-worker and fulfill a reasonable request by a manager.
- Aware and comply with all ‘statutory’ trainings, protocols and operational procedures mandated by UAE Government
What you bring...
- An upbeat and cheerful personality
- Passion for people, detail-oriented and multi-tasking
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2-years’ experience in same field, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle hotel
- Intermediate to proficient understanding of Computer systems such as: Prologic, Service One MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred
- Fluency in English (reading, writing and verbal)
- Flexible to work in varying shifts that may include days, nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Receiving Clerk: 2 years (required)
